Industrial Coatings

PSC Industrial Coatings are available in several standard colors as well as in fire resistant versions. Custom colors are available subject to minimum lead times and volumes.

PSC 105x TankCoat is a high performance acrylic elastomeric coating specifically formulated for protecting sprayed-in-place polyurethane foam coated oil tanks and other related structures from physical degradation through weathering and UV radiation. PSC 105x is typically applied with a sprayer to form a seamless, protective barrier against leakage, moisture intrusion and UV radiation. PSC 105x is used in western Canada by most leading oil tank manufacturers, approximately 80 % of all new oil tanks are coated with PSC 105x. PSC 105x has been on the market for more than ten years, but during all these years there have been no warranty claims. References are available upon request.

PSC 105x TankCoat FR is a fire resistant acrylic elastomeric coating. It is liquid applied, specifically formulated for protecting sprayed-in-place polyurethane foam coated structures and encapsulation of fibrous asbestos insulation. When applied as directed, PSC 105x FR bridges minor surface imperfections, hairline cracks, providing outstanding durability and long lasting protection. PSC 105x FR has superior aging characteristics eliminating the causes of ruptures, cracks and delaminating while providing a class “A” fire resistance rating with a flame spread classification (FSC) of 10 and smoke density classification (SD) of 5.

PSC 1320 Insulating TankCoat is a proprietary, high performance ceramic insulative coating. It has superior elastomeric characteristics eliminating the causes of ruptures, cracks and delaminating. PSC 1320 withstands substrate movement and accommodates rapid changes in temperature.

PSC 1320 can be used in the arctic as well as in the tropics and hot deserts, anywhere where good insulating and waterproofing is required. For hot water tanks, apply PSC 1320 first on the outside of the tank, and then insulate with urethane foam.

Uses

-     To eliminate condense water from interior hulls of ships entering arctic and tropics.

-     To waterproof and insulate roofs in environments with big variations between day and night temperatures.

-     To improve insulation values in hot water tanks.

Advantages

-     Less than 30 g VOC per liter. Safe to use in closed living quarters.

-     Excellent initial reflectance in excess of 84 %.

-     UV light stable, fade resistant.

-     Reduces significantly cooling costs and inside air temperature.

-     Reduces roof surface aging and weathering.

-     Reduces significantly the cost of hot water in hot water tanks..

-     Resists aggressive atmospheric conditions.

-     Does not sustain micro bacterial and algae growth.

-     Durable and seamless film resists wind driven rain and sand, hail, mold, mildew and airborne pollutants.

-     Non-flammable, can be supplied in a fire resistant version with class "A" rating.
